BookaBreakfast caught up with the Marketing team at their Head Office quizzing them about their breakfast favourites!

Here at Aubaine HQ, we know the breakfast and brunch menus inside out. Never a morning goes by when we aren’t tempted by the amazing smells wafting up from the kitchens as we settle into work. Although we try to love each dish equally, we all secretly have our favourites and can’t help but be slightly biased…

As a newbie to Aubaine, only 6 months ago, I was keen to get stuck in and try as many different dishes as possible. From the adventurous sweet French toast brioche to the bold savoury scrambled egg with black truffle, I have loved trying them all but my ultimate favourite has to be the classic cliché of avocado on toast. Nothing can beat this trusty regular, with the creaminess of the avocado contrasting with the sharp roasted tomatoes, it is my go-to every time. But the most standout element of all is the cereal toast, this dish really does showcase the very best bread the Aubaine bakery has to offer – there really is nothing better!

I was always a little scared of chia seeds before I joined Aubaine – I just couldn’t understand how those tiny black seeds could morph into what looked like mini tadpoles on their first contact with water. I knew they were regarded as a superfood, packed with omega-3, antioxidants and fibre (so I was meant to like them), but I was apprehensive about how they would feel (slimy?) and taste (pond water?). One morning, I decided to bite the bullet and try Aubaine’s Chia seed & homemade granola pot and I’ve never looked back! A heavenly blend of crunchy homemade granola, quinoa, creamy Greek yoghurt, coconut and soya milk topped off with a delicately spiced plum compote, it’s a delicious and super-healthy way to start your day – I am well and truly converted!

As another new recruit, I have also endeavoured to try just about all of the dishes on the menu but my sweet tooth has always tempted me towards the slightly more indulgent options! My favourite HAS to be the French toast brioche. Every inch of this delicious dish is smothered in Maple syrup, it’s every sugar addict’s dream but not for the faint-hearted! To balance out the sweetness and cut through the syrup, the dish is topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries which makes it the perfect combination. Plus that’s 2 of your 5 a day so guess it’s kind of healthy, right?!
